School Accountability Committee

What is SAC?  

It stands for School Accountability Committee and it is a state mandated committee that allows community members to be involved in educational improvement at a school.

Who needs to be a part of the School Accountability Committee?

Each school is responsible for establishing a School Accountability Committee (SAC), which should consist of at least the following seven members: 

  • The principal of the school or the principal’s designee; 

  • At least one teacher who provides instruction in the school; 

  • At least three parents of students enrolled in the school; 

  • At least one adult member of an organization of parents or teachers recognized by the school; and 

  • At least one person from the community.

Please join us! ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend. Meetings are held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Cherrelyn Elementary School's Library. Below are the upcoming meetings and tentative topics:

  • Tuesday, December 13 (Budget priorities and survey results)

  • Tuesday, January 17 (Open SAC Night- What do you/the community want to discuss?)

  • Tuesday, February 21 (SEL/Mental Health and/or Center based programs/Special Ed)

  • Tuesday, April 18 (Wrap up and looking ahead)
